This anatomical textbook illustration depicts the anterior aspect of wrist and palm of hand. This project was created for the Human Anatomy course in the Biomedical Communications program. It served as an introduction to digital line drawing by using Adobe Illustrator. Using a varied range of line weights was important to direct the audience's attention. For example, thicker lines were used to bring some structures forward, and thinner lines were used to recede other structures. A preserved anatomical specimen in Grant’s Museum at University of Toronto was used as a reference, so another challenge was to adding the appearance of living tissue to this illustration.
